Turkey has one of the longest organic agriculture traditions in the region. The country's diverse climate supports cultivation of wheat, oats, barley, rice, legumes, olives, and fruits in dedicated organic zones. Heirloom seed varieties (siyez wheat being 10,000 years old) are still cultivated.
